With the expansion of the human population and the spread of electrical lighting in the last decades, the use of artificial lights at night has so tremendously increased that today it is one of the most pervasive human-induced environmental alterations.
Investigations of ecological consequences of artificial illumination have been the focus of my research in last few years, integrated into COST LoNNe network in a collaboration with IGB Loss of the Night. -
